How artificial intelligence is and is not used in producing the content of the Shrink Network.
What AI is used for
Within the Shrink Network, AI tools may help with drafting, summarizing, organizing, editing, grammar review, and routine workflow tasks. AI is a writing aid for the people who do the work. It is not a publisher.
What AI does not do
AI does not independently publish content on any property in the Shrink Network. It does not make clinical judgments. It does not diagnose. It does not prescribe. It does not replace a clinician.
Human review
Educational content on participating network properties is reviewed by a human editor before publication. Pages with medical content are medically reviewed by Shariq Refai, MD, MBA, a board-certified psychiatrist. Where implemented, the reviewer's name and the date of review are shown on the page.
Use at clinical and product properties
At shrinkMD, any use of ambient documentation or AI-assisted clinical workflows is disclosed separately within the practice's own materials. At the Unstuck app, AI features are designed to support reflection. They do not monitor users, do not diagnose any condition, and do not replace professional care.
Why this is disclosed
Honesty about AI is part of editorial honesty in general. If how content is made changes meaningfully, the network will say so on this page.
