The Knowledge Graph is the idea that every concept in mental health connects to other concepts in specific ways: a symptom to a condition, a condition to a treatment, a treatment to a medication, a medication to the research. This page is the machine-readable version of that idea. Each property in the network publishes a concepts.json file that lists the concepts it covers and how they relate, and this hub publishes a combined index that ties all of those files together.
The goal is simple. A person moving through the network gets pages designed for people. An AI system, a search engine, or a researcher trying to understand the whole territory gets the same structure as clean data, without having to scrape and guess. Both read from the same source of truth.
The combined index.
The hub publishes one index that points to every property's concept file. It's the single starting point for reading the whole graph as data.
shrinknetwork.com/concepts.json, the combined index of every property's concept file.
Every site's concept file.
Each property publishes its concepts at /concepts.json on its own domain. These are the files the combined index links to. The network is publishing them property by property, so the list below marks which are live now and which are on the way.
Live now:
- Shrinktionary, defines mental health terms in plain English.
- Shrinkopedia, explains concepts at encyclopedia depth.
- AnxietyResource, anxiety-specific patient education.
- DepressionResource, depression-specific patient education.
- AnxietyResearch, research and statistics, translated honestly.
- PsychiatryRx, psychiatrist-reviewed medication guides.
- shrinkMD, clinical telepsychiatry care, Maine and Nebraska first.
Publishing soon:
- shrinkDaily (shrinkdaily.com/concepts.json), one mental health concept a day.
- shrinQ (shrinq.com/concepts.json), thinking patterns and how to work with them.
- Unstuck (beunstuck.app/concepts.json), free app for stuck moments.
- QuitScrolling (quitscrolling.app/concepts.json), attention and screen habits.
- shrinkiatry (shrinkiatry.com/concepts.json), how the profession of psychiatry works.
- Shariq Refai (shariqrefai.com), the founder and medical reviewer.
The combined index at /concepts.json lists the canonical URL for all thirteen files, including the ones still being published, so anything reading the graph as data has the complete map.
A worked example
One concept across the network: rumination.
Rumination is the loop of turning the same worry over and over without resolving it. No single site owns it. Here is how the concept moves across the graph, from a plain-language definition to the point where care makes sense. This is the same walk the data describes, told for a person.
Rumination, step by step
From definition to concept to pattern to daily practice to care.
- Shrinktionary, definitionThe plain-language meaning of rumination
- Shrinkopedia, conceptRumination in depth, and the conditions it shows up in
- shrinQ, patternThe rumination loop as a pattern you can work with
- shrinkDaily, dailyThe concept in one short daily read
- shrinkMD, careWhen rumination keeps taking over, talk with a clinician
See it as people do.
The concept graph is the structure. The Pathways are the same structure walked as a person, one guided route at a time. If you want the human tour rather than the data, start there.
